Earth Rangers in the School

What an amazing presentation by the Earth Rangers. Thanks to the Ecoclub members, the Earth Rangers were able to visit our school and teach us about endangered species, their habitats, and what we can do to help.

In the new year we will be focusing on a lights out campaign as well as a waste audit.

We can't wait to get started. See you in the new year.

Ecoclub is Up and Running!

It was a terrific first official meeting! 31 of us gathered together and got right down to business. First on our list was to weed the rock garden (pictures to follow), which now looks much more like a garden. When that was finished, Ecoclub members got mulching. Our new plants, which survived the summer, got some much needed fertilizer and are beaming away in the sun. Thanks Ecoclub members! See you in two weeks.

Malvern Collegiate Teaches us about Buying Local

Students from Malvern Collegiate came in today and helped us learn where our food comes from and the benefits of buying locally grown food. We learned that a lot less pollution is created when we don't have to transport food from far away places. We finished our meeting with planting herb and vegetable seeds in order to hopefully harvest our own local food!
